Safety Pumice perches are textured but smooth on the top to protect the pads of your birds feet and have a coating of pumice on the sides to help wear down nails and provide grip.
The attachments are plastic and nice and big to guard against destruction by chewing.

I hate trimming nails on my princess parrot, so I vary her perches to try and keep the trimming to a minimum. This perch definitely helps (but it still does need to be done, just less often)
I actually have it above my desk (on a magazine holder) for some of her out of cage time while I'm studying.
