Screw It

Whilst this toy was created with the hardware oriented parrots in mind this toy will likely be a joy for almost any parrot that sets their beak to it.

Jutting from this block of pine are two stainless steel rods with stainless steel hex nuts just waiting to be unscrewed by a dexterous tongue. But to make it a little trickier we’ve added stainless steel washers to the mix. Yes, it adds a jangle to the toy when it’s partially unscrewed, and yes, some parrots really get excited about the washers all on their lonesome, but the point of them is to make unscrewing those hex nuts harder!

When everything ends up at the bottom of the cage, just pick up all the pieces and screw them back on again (though, maybe wash them first). Screw them on in a different configuration to change the game.

Screw it has a lovely hole running down the centre for slipping any of our Stainless Steel Chain Toy Starters through, or a kabob or some leather lace… or whatever you want. It’s versatile.

Dimensions: The block of pine is 90mm x 45mm x 30mm. The SS threaded rods stick out approximately 45mm.

Bird Size: Medium sized birds suit this toy best, with beaks big enough to unscrew the pieces. e.g. larger Parakeets, smaller Cockatoos, African Greys
