Catherine Wheel

The photo does not do this parrot toy justice. It can often be a tricky thing to make a great looking bird toy that will stand up to the big parrots, last for a while and will remain within budget without compromising material safety.

Tooting our own horn, we think we achieved it with the Catherine Wheel. This circular delight is composed of 6 large pine wood triangles (each measuring 14cm wide, 7cm tall and 3.5cm thick) strung on sturdy stainless steel wire with large beehive beads and knots of vegetable tanned leather between. The triangles stick out at awkward angles making this toy a feast for the eyes and a major temptation for the beak.
