Postage Calculator
Our postage calculator adds up the combined weight of the products you have ordered, and calculates postage costs during the checkout process. The postage options you have are dependent on what country you are from.
We need your postcode - the postage calculator will not work without one. New Zealander’s follow this link to see what yours is: New Zealand Post Code Finder
Please eliminate spaces from your postcode, or the postage calculation will fail. For example, if you were from London you might write "N13DH", but not "N1 3DH".
20kg is the maximum weight: The postage calculator conks out at 20kg. If your order exceeds this limit (the postage calculator will let you know), we would appreciate if you could split your purchase into two, or contact us.

Parcels up to 250g - $4.00
Parcels between 250 – 500g $5.20
Parcels 500g – 20kg within Melbourne $6.95
Parcels 500g – 20kg elsewhere in Australia $8.75 + 45c - $2.85 per kg depending on distance from Melbourne
To New Zealand – economy air (sea post not available)
Parcels up to 250g - $6.40
Parcels up to 500g - $9.75
Parcels weighing 1kg - $16.45
Parcels weighing 2kg - $30.00
Every 500g after that = $3.50 per kg

Information for International Customers

GST (Goods and Services Tax)
International orders are not subject to Australian GST tax. If you are purchasing from overseas please do not use the Australian currency to do your shopping on this website, as it automatically adds 10% to the prices.
Your order may incur customs/duty fees when it arrives. Please check with your local customs office for more information. My Parrot Shop will not assume any responsibility for customs fees on your purchase or the package. All international customs fees are the responsibility of the customer.
Quarantine
Your package may be inspected by quarantine officers, and some items confiscated. Please check carefully with your local quarantine office about prohibited items in your country. We will endeavour to include information pertaining to the materials we are shipping in our international orders, to help prevent unnecessary confiscation of goods, but we accept no responsibility for any outcome and can offer no reimbursement.

My Parrot Shop takes no responsibility for the information provided in this section and any fees incurred by the shipment are entirely the responsibility of the customer.
Import Duties
NZ Import Duties are long and complicated (like everybody else’s), however most products under the My Parrot brand label should not incur any duty, as they were “manufactured or significantly altered in Australia” as agreed to be import-duty-free in the trade agreement between Australia and NZ.
If any product ordered does incur a fee a bill will be sent to you by a NZ Customs Agent. If you are concerned about possible fees on your order, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information, either by sending us an email, or by making a note on your order (don’t forget to give us your email address). We won’t send your order until we’ve made further contact, and if necessary will remove concerning items from the list and reimbursing you in an agreed-upon way.
GST
Like all international orders, we don’t charge Australian GST on products ordered from and delivered to NZ. (Don’t forget to select the NZ currency to get the GST free prices in New Zealand Dollars.) If it chooses, the NZ Government can charge you NZ GST (12.5%) if the total value of the goods shipped to you is over $399 NZD. If GST is to be charged you will receive notification from the NZ government upon the shipment’s arrival. If you are importing for any other reason except personal use a completely different set of rules apply.

Quarantine
Your package may be inspected by quarantine officers. Most items we sell should make it through NZ quarantine undisturbed, and for any product that may be a concern, we will make a note in the product description, but we cannot accept responsibility for any outcome and will offer no reimbursement for confiscated items.
