Well we haven't been the best at updating our Diary page regularly but we would like to take the time now to let you know that this all going to change soon! With the launch of our very first newsletter coming this week the Diary page will become the new online home of our newsletter. Check back later this week to see our first newsletter containing information on all the updates that have recently happened to our website and product lines.
Till then,

Hello everyone. Pony beads, the all essential toy parts are now up on the site. If you like making your own parrot toys pony beads are essential ingredients. They're colourful, cheap, make great spacers and are very useful for plugging the gaps on bigger beads so you only have to tie one knot in the string. And of course, all parrots love them. The info pages are still being re-arranged but should be up by Christmas, as well as another bunch of toys including some more really groovy Star Bird products by New Years. We wish you and all our feathered friends a great christmas and new years.

Over the next couple of days a bunch of new products will be going up on this site and the information pages will be rearranged. So don't worry if your browsing around and things suddenly change all about you, it's just us messing around in the background. We have also finished making our very own big wood beads suitable for big bird chewing. All of you out there with large cockatoos and macaws are sure to be delighted with them. It will probably be about a week and half before they're up on the site as parts and in My Parrot toys. In the mean time a couple of the Star-Bird products we'll be adding tonight (the Brainiac Block and the Seek a Treat) are absolutely perfect for the big chewers and we highly recommend them.

It’s so hard to keep up with ourselves! It may look all peaceful and calm on the surface, but be assured we’re buzzing around like mad underneath it all. We have some fantastic products coming in very soon from Starbird, which you are absolutely going to go crazy over (your bird definitely will)! We are currently prepping to add books to the site along with some DVDs and Videos and we are closing in on adding a bunch of new toys for our My Parrot range, including more toys for the big boys, some really groovy paper stick toys and a couple of vegetable tanned leather based toys. We only wish we could move faster, as we still have so far to go!
If you’ve been staying tuned for information regarding the Disco Ball toy, its still proving to be a difficult one to sort out. We thought we had a replacement wiffle that would last longer, but it arrived and proved not to be the case. So we’re back to looking. We have no idea how long it’s going to be anymore. So we’ve put the original back on the site for sale at a cheaper price, and there are now spare wiffles in our toy parts section that you can purchase and use to recreate the toy when needed.

Many more products have been added to our site over the last couple of weeks, including some fantastic parrot toy parts. There are three more categories; Cage Accessories, Bolt On Toys and, of course, Toy Parts.
The highlight of our most recently listed products is the awesome Stainless Steel Toy Extender and Kabob, which we believe you will find of particular worth and can be found under our Cage Accessories category. Our links page went up a couple of weeks ago. We highly recommend having a look through the Health & Safety links in particular which lead to some very informative sites about general parrot care, individual species and all sorts of other advice useful to people who have or plan to get a companion parrot.
We have added a convenient contact form that you can use to send us an email directly from the website, and our Toys and Materials page has had a few bits and bobs added to it as well.
Whilst adding the latest set of products we started running into the odd classification difficulty. Sometimes this means a product is listed under a couple of categories. We expected the issue to crop up eventually and spent months trying to think of a broad classification system that would work whilst still being easy and logical to browse. The first product that ran into this classification difficulty was the Birdie Bopper. It doesn’t hang, it doesn’t bolt-on and it’s only a foot toy for the biggest of birds (which is where we put it in the end). We declined to add a Foraging Toy category; because most foraging toys fit nicely into the categories we currently have. Incidentally, if you are specifically searching for foraging toys, typing “foraging and toy” into the search box will raise all the relevant products.
There are still so many more products that we will gradually add over the next few months. A few more information pages are being created that we hope you will find useful and the website is constantly undergoing improvements for easy use. We are making progress on the wiffle balls for the Disco Ball toy mentioned in the last diary entry, but it could still be a few weeks away.

GST is now included in all our listed prices! Please see our site guide for further explanation of how this works for local and international customers. Our Links page is being prepared and will be uploaded to the site sometime next week. If you've been looking around our site you'll have noticed the photos changing about as we improve upon them. You might also have noticed the disappearance of "The Disco Ball" as we found it too easily destroyed by a galah (for its price). It will be back as soon as we've found a more solid replacement for the wiffle ball, which will hopefully be soon.

Well here goes, only one week late: Website open!
First of all we apologise for the GST not being included in the prices. We’re aiming to get this aspect fixed by next weekend. Until then Australians will need to register on the site and use the shopping cart to view the 10% GST on our products.
As for the rest of the website, we’d love any feedback on difficulties, confusions or concerns so we can do our best to fix them.
We’ve opened with four catagories: Hanging toys, Foot toys, Hardware and Perches. Quite a few more toys will be added to the Hanging and Foot sections over the coming weeks as well as more stainless steel hardware. The category Toy Parts will be added soon along with another category. In fact we have LOTS more categories to add, some of which will happen gradually, and others in one big hit. We’ll keep you posted.
We’ll also be adding another size category. Keiko (pronounced "kayko"), our blue & gold master-tester is only about a year and a half old, and as it turns out her big-bird chewing had a lot of growing to do. Many of our earlier prototypes went through her beak relatively unscathed, but it seems we did not truly grasp the big-bird’s chewing power. Keiko (Japanese for ‘blessing’) has begun enlightening us on this matter just recently. Oh the fun. Anyway, we’ve begun designing some munchbusters and should get them up on the site relatively soon in their very own Extra Large category. We will also reclassify some of our current large toys at that time too.
Finally, the links page. This will be added in the next couple of weeks.
Anyhow, thankyou for waiting, we hope you like it.
